This July we launched our annual StarNow Global Model Search. This opportunity opened the door for talent to be scouted and signed with one or more of the world's top modelling agencies - Models1 (UK), (AU), and l.a Models (USA).
We received almost 10,000 applications worldwide, our partner agencies were excited to find fresh new faces to sign to their books, and we've got some great news...
Vivien's Model Management in Australia is thrilled to have signed five aspiring models from the StarNow 2017 Global Model Search!
"With almost 5,000 eager applicants from the Asia/Pacific region to choose from, it was a tough job to narrow the field down to a short-list of over 50 girls and guys." Said Catherine of Vivien's.
"Our aim was to meet and interview the shortlisted applicants in person at our offices around Australia. We have selected Eliza Avery as our regional winner. Eliza is a gorgeous and vivacious blonde who has a bright future in modelling. We are excited to have also signed four other applicants who we believe have future potential. We're looking forward to seeing how they develop.” Catherine said.
Previous winners have gone on to become the face of major brands and modelled all around the world, so Eliza was thrilled when she found out the news, saying "I am honestly still processing all of this! I can't believe it!"
We caught up with Eliza to ask her a few questions about herself:Where are you from?
I am originally from Newcastle, a city roughly two hours north of Sydney. I moved to Sydney three years ago to begin studying at the University of New South Wales.
Do you have any previous modelling experience?
I have been modelling on and off for about a year and a half. I began as a freelance model where the majority of my work was in the category of beauty; so shooting for make-up and hair artists, or products. And I've had a lot of experience shooting E-commerce.What made you apply for the Global Model Search?
Honestly, it was the second month of receiving very little modelling work and I just had such an itch to get back into it. With contests such as this, I've always had the mentality of, "What have I got to lose? The worst they can do is say no." I saw it on Instagram, thought the prize was phenomenal, something that's always been a goal of mine and I just went for it!"How do you feel about winning?
It definitely hasn't sunk in yet... I did not expect anything to come from entering this. I just pressed 'Apply' and put my laptop away. I can't believe it! I feel very grateful and I'm ridiculously excited to see where this opportunity might take me. I'll work as hard as I need to, to make the most of it!
